The British Foundation for ̽»¨ÏµÁÐ (BFUWI) is a UK registered charity.ÌýÌýIt was formally established in London in January 2009 as a UK registered charity (no. 1127408).
It is working to build partnerships and collaborations with UK universities and colleges as it expands its global footprint and to make The UWI well known in the United Kingdom. It also seeks to attractÌýbenefactor donations and corporate funding to finance student scholarships nstitutional strengthening and more. ItÌý continues to proudly support the UWI as it srives to becomeÌý firmly recognisedÌýglobally or all things Caribbean.
OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of the British Foundation for ̽»¨ÏµÁÐ are:
- To establish, promote and develop mutually beneficial relationships with key UK universities, colleges and corporations.Ìý
- To innovate diverse ways of translating the support ofÌý well-wishers in the UK into tangible benefits for the University and the Caribbean Region
- To raise funds for the UWI from the UK in a tax efficient manner from all possible sources – individuals, companies, organizations, partnership arrangements
- To facilitate positive and informed awareness-raising of the UWI and the wider issue of Caribbean development in the UK context
- To work with and encourage the support of alumni in the UK through the UWIAA UKÌý for BFUWI activities and eventsÌý
